Glamour: What was your favorite thing about shooting this campaign at the Louvre?
Amanda Seyfried: The private appointment with the art! What a privilege!
What’s one beauty trend you’re obsessed with right now?
Lip gloss! Lancôme Juicy Tubes Lip Gloss for life.
What’s one beauty rule you swear by?
Keeping my under eyes moisturized always—the skin is thinnest there.
What’s one beauty rule you think is BS?
Super-gluing your eyebrows. Ouch.
Fill in the blank: I love my hair when…
It’s freshly washed.
Fill in the blank: I feel most beautiful when…
My kids make me laugh.
Do you remember the first beauty product you ever used?
My sister’s mascara.
What has been your biggest beauty fail?
I egregiously over-plucked my eyebrows in high school for them never to return in full.
You travel constantly. What city or country gives you the greatest beauty inspiration?
Kyoto left an incredible impression on me. In Japanese culture in general the people are all about living within nature and trying not to change but thrive surrounded by the beauty of Mother Nature. Beauty, to me, is just that. Appreciating what we have, who we are, and where we come from— letting nature inform and inspire our journey inside and out of ourselves.
You can only use three products for the rest of your life. What are they and why?
Mascara because I have blonde lashes, and a little mascara like Lancôme’s Le 8 Hypnôse brightens my whole face. Also, Lancôme’s L’Absolu Rouge Drama lipstick in my color, Mademoiselle Amanda, because it’s slightly darker than my natural color and gives a healthier glow to my lips. And Lancôme’s Brow Define pencil—my brows also just a little bit too blonde to see sometimes. Highlighting—and appreciating—the features I already have is the key.
What colors are you loving on your nails right now?
I usually keep them clean because color just chips off immediately. Farm chores are no match for cute nails!
What’s your go-to getting ready music?
An audiobook!
How much time do you spend getting ready?
Roughly 10 minutes. I’ve got my favorite tricks down.
What is your favorite way to take a moment for yourself?
Crocheting or looking for a new pattern/project to crochet or knit while my son naps and my daughter is at school…with warm coffee nearby.
What’s the last Instagram rabbit hole you went down?
Donkeys relaxing.
What’s your favorite emoji?
[Crying smiling emoji].
If you could change one thing about beauty perceptions on social media and in Hollywood, what would that be?
That selfies get likes. Let’s turn the camera around at what’s in front of us. Selfies can be nice and organic in the right context. Let’s keep it special.
Who are the women who inspire you the most right now?
My fellow moms. It’s hard and chaotic to work and be present for your kids all at once. It’s important to be able to do both.
