King Mizzie is a new artist that caught my attention while on the app Clubhouse.King Mizzie is from Miami, Fl but was raised in Columbus, Ga. After finding him, I decided to dig deep into his music, and I instantly fell in love with his sound. His music reminded me of a mix of Gunna and Don Toliver. King Mizzie’s music has a futuristic and melodic sound. King Mizzie started rapping at age nine by writing his first song, In 2017 King Mizzie started taking music more seriously. King Mizzie’s project “Whats The Cost” is a whole vibe. In October 2020, King Mizzie dropped the project “What’s the Cost,” and it’s straight fire. Some of my favorite songs from the project are “Scold Me,” “Easy Love,” and “Die Regular.” In the song “Die Regular,” King Mizzie tells us a story of his come up in the music industry. My favorite song on the album is “Scold Me” When i got a chance to asked him, “What inspired the song scold me?” His response was “Scold me was really inspired by this dime I use to talk to where she acted like she was really there for my time, the whole time it was all a game she ended up having a child exactly 9months after we stopped talking. But I always say when I do become the superstar I’m meant to be all the money and fame will never change me. It’s gonna be me and the same ppl I was with when she knew me.” Also, I wanted to know what was King Mizzie’s creative process when making this uniquely amazing body of work? His response was “I really wanted to try something different with my sound and just keep on pouring my souls into the mic 2020 was a pretty rough year for a lot of us but still gotta make sure while we are able we are finding ways to get up higher in life I don’t want to be in the same position I’m in now when I’m 30 so we will keep taking risk to win.”Overall, “Whats the Cost” by King Mizzie is a fantastic body of work and is definitely worth the stream. “Whats the Cost” is out now on all streaming platforms. King Mizzie will also be dropping a project at the top of the year 2021 there is no name for the project yet, but stay on the lookout for that.
