New songs: Tinashe, Baroness, Polo G, Doechii, Sexyy Red, more

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

BARONESS – “SHINE”

Baroness have shared another taste of Stone, and it finds their trademark prog/sludge/alt-rock in fine form. They also added even more openers to their tour. Updated list here.

PANOPTICON – “I ERINDRINGENS HØSTLIGE DYSTERHET”

The second taste of Panopticon’s upcoming album The Rime of Memory (due 11/29) is a two-minute folky instrumental, which follows the previous 16-minute black metal single “Cedar Skeletons.”

FILTH IS ETERNAL – “PRESSURE ME”

Seattle punks Filth Is Eternal have shared a caustic, sludgy ripper from their upcoming LP Find Out, and vocalist Lis Di Angelo calls this one “an acknowledgment that sometimes, whether we want to admit it or not, we need the pressure of honest discourse, especially if we mean to figure out the world we’ve built and discover the root of our problems.”

SEXYY RED – “HOOD RATS” (ft. SUKIHANA)

Sexyy Red is a strong contender for rapper of the summer, and she just keeps the momentum going. This new banger is no exception.

BLODET – “THE HOUR”

Haunting melodic goth and towering doom come together on Blodet’s new seven-minute single.

DAVIDO ft. MUSA KEYS – “UNAVAILABLE” (LATTO REMIX)

Afrobeats star Davido taps Atlanta rapper Latto to spice up “Unavailable” on this new remix.

EYEDRESS – “THE DARK PRINCE” FT. MAC DEMARCO

GOOD LOOKING FRIENDS – “JAYWALKER”

Good Looking Friends will release new LP Wasted Now on September 15 via Acrobat Unstable, and lead single “Jaywalker” is a rough-around-the-edges emo-punk anthem that feels ready to explode.

DOECHII – “BOOTY DROP”

After performing part of the track at the BET Awards, Doechii has officially unveiled the spicy “Booty Drop,” accompanied by a video styled like a ’90s VHS tape.

CRASHER – “STATIC”

San Diego punks Crasher will release new LP Speaking Terms on October 10, and the first single is the rowdy, noisy “Static.”

TAYLA PARX – “SOMETHING IN MY EYE”

“‘Something In My Eye’ is my most honest song yet,” Tayla Parx says. “I’ve always been the ‘strong friend’ or the person who is always smiling, and it put immense pressure on me to fall into this whole toxic positivity trap. But recently, I’ve found strength in being able to accept support for myself, for whatever emotions and struggles I’m having at the time. ‘Something In My Eye’ is a reflection of the space I was in of shying away from some of my feelings and moving into the space I am in now, where I’m facing them head on.” It’s from her upcoming project Many Moons, Many Suns.

YNG LVCAS – “DIVIÉRTETE” (ft. MALDY)

Still riding high off the strength of “La Bebe” ft. Peso Pluma, Yng Lvcas keeps the laid-back reggaeton vibes going on new single “Diviértete” with Maldy of Plan B.

TINASHE – “NEEDS”

Ahead of her tour with Shygirl and UNIIQU3, Tinashe has shared another track from her new album BB/ANG3L, the smooth, sultry “Needs.”

ICONA POP – “FALL IN LOVE”

Icona Pop’s first album in a decade, Club Romantech, is out next month, and the latest single is another exuberent dance track, “Fall In Love.”

POLO G – “BARELY HOLDIN’ ON”

Polo G just never seems to stop churning out high-quality melodic drill jams, and “Barely Holdin’ On” is no exception.

DJ SHADOW – “OZONE SCRAPER”
