Do you know what Ken Griffey Jr likes to do in retirement? He’s a photographer. The Legendary MLB player Ken Griffey Jr. has a fantastic side gig, and he put it to good use on this week for an MLS match between Inter Miami and Nashville SC. Dude had a press pass, bib, camera and giant lens as he sat behind the ad boards and snapped pics of the other legend in the building. Pretty cool.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has a reputation for being one of the more innovative offensive coaches in the NFL. Reid’s success can be credited to his willingness to think outside of the box, which is exactly what he did once when he was an offensive assistant coach with the Green Bay Packers, and he called a play given to him by the team’s janitor. On a recent podcast he said this “We had a janitor — it was a mom and pop group that cleaned our facility forever — and this guy kept telling me…I’ve got this play for you,”. “He kept telling me this over and over. Finally, I said, ‘OK, here’s a card. Draw up the play.’ And he drew up the play and I go, ‘Dang, that’s pretty good.’ We called the play just before halftime and it scored, and he starts hitting his wife going, ‘That’s my play! That’s my play!’” It’s not known exactly when or which game Reid used the play in, but it occurred sometime between 1992 and 1998 when Reid worked for the Packers as an assistant offensive line and tight ends coach before being promoted to quarterbacks coach/assistant head coach. Reid has incorporated his offensive imagination at both of his head coaching stops with the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Reid’s janitor story is just one example of his mantra of “We’ll take plays from anywhere.”

Ronald Acuña Jr. is officially in a club of one, and he entered in grand fashion. The Atlanta Braves star hit his 30th home run of the season on Thursday in a clash against the Los Angeles Dodgers, making him the first player in MLB history to hit 30 homers and steal 60 bases in a single season. Of course, Acuña didn’t just homer to create the 30-60 club. He hit a grand slam in a highly anticipated meeting between the top two teams in the National League. Ronald Acuña Jr. hits grand slam to become 1st member of MLB’s 30-60 club – LINK
