Colour Theory Trend

Barbie pink, blueberry milk and neon orange shades are having a moment, thanks to celebrities like Issa Rae and Dua Lipa, who are rocking them this season. You can go with one shade or alternate your chosen colours with varying shades on each nail.

Bright and vibrant, pink polish is an excellent way to embrace the Barbiecore era we’ve all become obsessed with this year, thanks to Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. We love the Bio Sculpture Gemini nourishing nail polish in shades like Jinkie Pink, Perfect Pink, Ipanema Sunset, and Pink Iceberg. The non-toxic formula gives a quality polish while also nourishing your nails.

Blueberry milk is all about creamy, glossy polishes in powdery pastel hues. OPI has a great colour selection in colours like No Room for the Blues and To Infinity & Blue-Yond, to dip your toe into the trend.

If you have been scrolling TikTok lately, you’ll notice a vibrant nail trend known as ‘Spritz Nails,’ referring to your nail colour looking like the iconic Aperol Spritz cocktail. Bright orange is a gorgeous summery alternative to luxurious and classic red. CND has a great selection of sunset-inspired shades, from Among the Marigolds to Limoncello.

Textured Tips

Blush nails are a form of nail art that first emerged as a K-beauty nail style. You can achieve this look with eyeshadow or blush using a small dense round brush or a sponge eyeshadow applicator on the nails. Apply in the centre of the nail and blend gently to keep the colour concentrated. Just be sure to finish with a top coat to secure the colour.

If you’re looking for a low-maintenance option, matte nails are the way to go. This texture is easy to achieve because all you need is a matte top coat polish, like Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Top Coat Activator in Matte.

3-D add-ons like pearls, jewels, and raised gels and stickers are everywhere this season, thanks to the Mermaidcore trend. The easiest way to achieve this look at home is with press-on nails. All you need is your nail art of choice, and glue to keep the adornments in place. Since nails often need a little extra TLC after using acrylic nails, try OPI’s Repair Mode Bond Building Nail Serum to help build new bonds for stronger nails.

French Revival

French Revival refers to the traditional French manicure, but with a twist—think thin-tipped nails and coloured tips! A simple way to ease into this trend is to have fun with your French tips. Use bright shades, or alternate rainbow shades for the summer. Use a sheer, milky colour for the base that matches your skin tone, just as you would for your foundation. Pour a small amount of polish onto a mixing palette or piece of tin foil to do it at home. Dip a thin liner brush into the polish and paint from the nail’s free edge. Remove any mistakes with a lip brush dipped in nail polish remover.
